Propelling the Economy of Davao (Meeting 2A Reflection)

“Davao, Life is here” – A quotation that you will see in some tarps or boards as you enter the city of Davao. As you read between these lines, it denotes that everything you need is can be found in this city. It indicates that life is better living, that there are many opportunities in Davao. But is it really true? Is it right to associate the phrase “Life is here” in Davao? That’s a question that should be answer to justify the words above. A city can be categorized into three states. It could belong to a poor state, developing and best or enriched state. Cities belongs to the poor state are those places which has poor economy. It has low employment rate and the city industry is not alive as the pulse of their people is beating. Compare to the second state which is called the developing state, this city is making on its way to be align with the top competitive cities in the other parts in the world. When we talk about its industry, the people of that city are working on it and it’s alive and kicking. The third one which is the best or enriched state is the cities which are on its zenith of success. These are the top competitors in terms of economy and how they are advance in technology as well as its industry. With the case of Davao, this city belongs to the group of developing cities. It’s not bad though but it’s very alarming of what really happens in this city.

Based on what our facilitator mentioned in one of our meetings, Davao is facing now a great challenge where its opponents are the people itself who live this place. It’s not a shaggy dog story but it’s the reality and it really happens yearly. Davao has great universities here. They can produce best of the best graduates yearly which in fact a very beneficial one for the city. On the other hand, there’s a big, a gigantic “BUT” in behind of this thought. Even Davao has the best graduates in every year, the city itself can’t utilize if for the improvement. Why? It’s because of the common mindset of the fresh graduates nowadays. They were fascinated only with the high-paying jobs and these jobs are can be found to other cities like Cebu and Manila. If you’re an observer type of a person, you will notice that there are only few companies here in Davao especially with the IT companies. As the matter of fact, IT is one of the prominent courses that college students took up. But how it happens that there are only few IT companies here in Davao? Where are these hundreds of IT graduates go? Since most of these graduates have the Default mindset which only persuaded to attain their goal to land only a high-paying job, you can find them still in school if they extended their year there, or you can find them in the other country or in the other cities within the Philippines. Having these best graduates which is a big help to city industry is a very pleasant to hear and it makes the universities proud that they were able to produce these best graduates however it’s disappointing to know that these graduates doesn’t contribute any for the improvement of the city. Instead Davao could benefit the brilliant, excellent or great minds that it have, it doesn’t now matter since the one who will benefit these are the other country and the other cities. Davao become the suppliers of intelligent employee which only benefits the other cities. Why these graduates choose to migrate in other places? Since they have the different kind of mindset, they will go to the other places where there already many companies and therefore, they will be more opportunities there compare in this city. Even the average graduates are also following the steps of the others. They striving hard not for their city but for the other country and other cities were they think they could earn their desired salary. This is very alarming as what I said a while ago. If it continues, the industry of Davao city will be the same with the condition of the poor cities in the other part of the country as well as in the other part of the world. Instead of making this city to be one of the most competitive cities in the country or even in the world, it will end up into a horrible thing which has a massive effect not only into the city but also the people who lives there. What’s the bottom line in discussing this one? As you can see, each of the people who live in that city matters. People are the one who have the power to enhance or improve a city. A city will never be a city without a people who are living with it.

Change. That’s what the Davao needs to solve this disturbing scenario. It must be stop not only for the sake of the existence of the city but also with the people living with it. So, if you ask me if what I can do to make a change and propel the economy of Davao, I will start with my own self. How? It may not change automatically the economic condition of this city but it’s a good start. As what they said, “Love yourself first, before you love others”. This thought has the same thought of what I want to express. Before the second meeting happened, I’m one of the people whose thinking are fixed and just want to land a high-paying job as they get their diplomas. Before I change and help to propel the whole city of Davao, I want to start it first with myself. Primarily, I want to change the old mindset that I have. I want to embrace the alternative mindset which I discovered in the second meeting in our technopreneurship. If I just still have the same outlook and the same goals why I study hard, it will just end up with the same scenario with the graduates who didn’t have any contribution to the improvement of Davao’s economy. And when I understand truly and embrace the alternative mindset as a whole, I will do the second step. This can be done as soon as I will receive my diploma and will face the real world. I know it will be not easy but I will do my best to follow my goals and that is to be an employer someday, to be a boss in my own company someday. To do this thing, I will find a job which also related in my course so I could use what I learned from the years I’ve spend in college. Therefore, I will first become an employee. As what my mother said to me, being successful is not easy. If you’re going to the top floor in the building, you must start with the first floor. This idea is the same before you achieve the success. It must be a step-by-step process. So, I will be an employee and will do my best to be an effective employee. As the time goes by and I have enough money, then I will do the next thing which for me, it’s a good step to help to improve the economic state of Davao. Let’s say that I will think this time as a technopreneur. Since I got a job and have enough money, that’s the time that I will do my way, I will create a company that I can call it as my own and will be entitled as a boss of my own company. Now, how this idea can help to boost the Davao’s economy? As what I had mentioned above, the main problem why there are many best graduates throw their selves into other cities and countries is for the reason that there are only few opportunities that will be sought here in the city of Davao. To address this issue, if there are many people like me that has the same idea and want to put a company here in Davao, then this best graduates as well as the average graduates will seek opportunities not from other places but here in Davao. Why must they leave their family and go away just to have a job if they have the option not to? If there are many opportunities sparkling in their eyes and waiting for them here in Davao? Well, aside from returning what’s for the Davao which making these intelligent people work for Davao, there’s a great possibility that many people who are not belong in this city may seek opportunities here in Davao. This idea is a great opportunity not only for the people who wants to have job which will increase the employment rate in the city of Davao but also for the city which is a good thing to grab on since it will really have a massive effect in the economy of Davao which is a positive one. If I will be fortunate to be a successful in the business that I built, I want to have a program which I believe that it’s a helpful one also with the economy of Davao. This idea really doesn’t originate from me and I just heard it from the sharing of ideas which was happened in our third meeting in Technopreneurship. So the idea is like this, I will have a program that will support people who are very interested to their studies. In short, I will have a scholarship program. These people will continue their schooling as they work on my company. The set-up will be a give and take relationship but these students under with this program will receive more benefit than me. Why? As they will work for me, they will also have their salary as well as what I said earlier, they can also go to school which their expenses will be covered by my company. They will also have to attend seminars which will be implemented as they will be under in the scholarship program. This seminar is about the idea on how they enrich their selves and how they will stand with their own feet as they will finish their school and will have their own money. This seminar is an encouragement to these people to put up their own business and follow the steps of the great technopreneurs. It’s like what happened in the second meeting in Technopreneurship which our facilitator presented an alternative mindset and I will include it in the seminar. I believe that having a discussion about this kind of mindset is a big help to change their outlook in life. As these people will be successful in their own way, it will guaranteed the city of Davao that after ten years or let’s say fifteen years, the economy of this city will be on its peak due to the numbers of companies here in Davao which will give the way to produce a lot of opportunities. The idea also of having a scholarship program doesn’t only targets the employment here in Davao but also the education of the people in this city. I consider that education is one of the primary key to produce great employers and eventually will help to boost the economic state of Davao. Another thing that I am concerned with is how the technology runs with the industry of Davao. Since I’m a technopreneur in this case, I’m attached to the inventions and products of technologies. Having the advance technologies in a city is really a big help. It makes life easier especially in the business operations. There are a lot of countries like Korea, Japan and other countries which really give an attention in the importance of technology. In my observation, they used these as their tool to propel their country. They embrace the touch of technology which makes their country technologically advance from other and this advantage makes them ahead and more competitive from the other state. In relation to this, since I consider myself as a technopreneur, I will support programs which focus in innovations through the use of modern technology we have right now. There are many brilliant dabawenyos who possess great ideas regarding with the innovations of things which has sense and really helps the community. But, these people didn’t receive any chance by the government and just let it sell to other countries. Eventually, other countries will benefits of what are countrymen made. Instead our country will use these inventions and use it for the prosperity, the government just throw this opportunity and it happened many times. So back with the idea I mentioned, I will support the programs or people who have brilliants minds that create great innovations through financial support. Since I have my company which I positively believe that it’s one of the successful company in town, I will make an arrangements with those group of people whose innovations are interesting and has a big help with the economy of Davao. Since it’s a business and money matters, investment is a proper word to use to support their ideas. As what I said, money matters. It’s really important to have funds to make and invention or an innovation to be possible. If also I will find interesting and a helpful inventions which will makes the city more techie than I will buy it for good. From this idea, there will be more brilliant people out there will be encourage to show what they got and I assume that this will help not only the economy of Davao but also the field of Technopreneurship.

Davao city is a wonderful place. It supposed to be one of the best cities that Philippines could ever had. It must be align with Manila and Cebu or better with what these cities have. Davao has best people who have brilliant minds if it happens they were give a chance to show what they got and to give a chance to help the city. Davao should be one of the cities where you can find great opportunities not only for the people who live with it but for the other people who wants to be with it. My point is citing these words are that Davao could be what I said through the help of the people of it. It’s just a matter of having the guts to take a risk to accept and embrace the changes and just deal with it instead of sticking with the old one. As what I said, a city will not be city without the people behind it. Dabawenyos has the power to change the economic situation of their city and they are obliged to do it for the existence of this city. People in Davao is the answer with this situation and they must unite for the sake of the city as well as for their lives. I believe that as the people of Davao accept the changes and embrace the modernity which is the today’s technology, Davao’s economy will be on its zenith and even could be the great city not only in the country but in the whole world.

"The Alternative Mindset"

Education is an important thing for us individuals. According to some sayings which is very common, “Even though you don’t have anything, you have the knowledge and no one could steal it from you”. The quote above is one of the reasons why people must go to school every day but aside from this, each of us have hundreds of reasons why we striving so hard in school. One of these reasons is to land a high-paying job. Even if you ask random people out there, I’m sure it will be the common answers that you will find out from them. It’s because of the way how people think. Some people will say that nothing is wrong with this mentality but if we will talk about the Default Mindset, this will prove that there are part of this thought which must be changed.

“Go to school, get good grades, and land in a high-paying job.” This is the common outlook of people why they will send their child in school or why these people pursue their studies.  Parents embed this kind of mentality into their children so as the result, children adopt this mindset and pass into the next generation. As these children steps into school and will make the utmost to get good grades, they have the mentality that someday they will have high-paying jobs as they finish their years in studying. But the question is, Is it good to have this outlook with the mind of the student? What will be the effect of this kind of mindset? Before answering these questions, let me refresh what I learned from the second meeting in Technopreneurship and introduce this kind of mindset. According to our facilitator, this type of thinking is called the “Default Mindset”. It was termed as the Default Mindset because it was a very common mindset that was originated long, long time ago. This mindset was just all about landing a high-paying job as a student will get his diploma thinking that it’s a right thing to be an outlook in life. Because of this kind of mindset, students won’t see the real goal why they work hard during the time of being a student and will be blinded by this to see the better possibilities than what he thinks. Since they just want to get high-paying jobs, they might not aim to be an employer but will just be satisfied as an employee. They might lose the opportunity to be a boss in their own company someday. Losing the opportunity is the main result of having this kind of mentality. Let’s just take the example of the current situation of Davao industry. Davao produces great graduates when it comes in the field of IT. It can be prove through the contest where Davao universities participated. If you cannot find their names in the lower part, they might get the first, second or even the third place. That’s how Davao’s students are great. But, if we will talk about the industry, Davao is not like with the other cities like Cebu and Manila. They might not have the best students but they have the best employees, and which did they came from? Proudly to say, Davao. Davao become the supplier of best employees for the other cities and as the result, Davao didn’t have any improvement when we talk about industry. Why does it happen? Since there are many companies in the other cities, these great graduates will leave their city to obtain the alluring offers. In this case, it’s very alarming that it doesn’t only affect and individual but also affect the city. If only these great graduates have a different kind of thinking then, this could not possibly happen

If there’s a Default Mindset, there is also a different kind of mindset which is better. This kind of mindset is a substitution to change the effects of the old mindset. “Go to school, get good grades, create and own a company.” If you will read the words between these lines, it’s ideally different from the first one. This outlook is like, you’re telling to yourself that “I want to be an employer someday, not to be an employee”. Having your own company and to be called as a boss is better than to be an employee right? It’s like hitting two birds in one stone. You will earn a lot of money as well as to have a superior position in your own company. This kind of thinking is the “Alternative Mindset”. Parents send their child in school not just to let their child to land high-paying jobs but to have their own chair, own table with the label of their name, their own building, their own company. Students will work to get grades not just to be a web developer, a system analyst but be the boss in the company they had create. This will have a positive effect not only for one’s self but also for other people as well as to the city. If these great students will be successful to put up their own company, this will cause more opportunities to other people and will don’t have to migrate to other places just to have the desired earnings. What’s great with this, is that the city will be improved in terms in the condition of the industry as the rate of employment will increase. If this will happen to Davao as an example earlier, Davao could possibly align with other successful cities like Cebu and Manila and could even overtake to think that Davao has the best graduates with great abilities.

For me, after what I have learned from the second meeting, I realize that efforts you have exerted in your student years are useless if you have the wrong outlook in life. Thinking how life will be so challenging after you graduate will just make you go into a wrong path. Somehow, this kind of thinking makes you possess to have the Default Mindset. Setting the right goals will be out of place and will be replaced of worries of ‘what if’s’ concerning with the future. Even if once I was being one of those people who have default mindset, I’m glad that I made a reflection to myself regarding on how I think and how I set my goals. I was given a chance to take away my worries and think positively outside the walls I had made. Now, I look forward in my future not only as to be an IT programmer but a person who is entitled to be called as the boss someday in my own company.

"Expectations for the First Plane Ever"

Since I was a child, I keep looking in the sky whenever there a plane will pass by. I have the question in mind of what is the feeling of being up there. A have a playful thought that if the time will come that I will be able to ride an airplane, I will jump from there and will step on clouds. I even was having thought that clouds could be eaten since its looks like a cotton candy and it will taste good because it was big and puffier to look. I just laugh with myself as I remember those days. Children really have colourful imaginations is what I just said to myself. But even I have that kind of imagination when I was a child, I still want to ride with an airplane with my age right now. The difference from the younger me and the current me is that I want to ride with an airplane not to eat those clouds but to experience and to know what is the feeling of Superman as he fly with his red cape. I know these thought is still childish but riding with an airplane is still like the feeling of flying and I want it so bad to experience it.

As I knew that FTS will be one of my subjects this year, I feel excited because one of the models for the field trip is heading to Manila. Before I enrolled this subject, I had planned it already that I will choose the Model A which will visit some place outside the Mindanao like Manila. Aside from wanting to see and experience the Manila, I took this opportunity to ride an airplane. From the year I was able to see this wonderful world and as of this moment, I didn’t have ridden yet an airplane or anything which can bring me to the sky. I’m always fantasizing of it as I lay down in my bed. I have an imagination of my feet stepping to the floor of an airplane and having the position of like a boss as I seat one of the chairs of that airplane. I also imagine myself making fun of “selfie” with a background of the airplane I ridden. Well, that’s how I imagine things and I hope that it will not just part of imaginations. If you will ask me of my expectations towards riding a plane for the first time, you will know not hundreds of it but expect that it’s more than one expectation. Since it’s my first plane ride, I want to be positive for as I can. There are many horrible news that heard regarding with airplanes and I’m afraid of that. One of these is being crashed. I know, it’s too much negativity of having the thought like this but it do really happens. If it will happen, there are 0.1 % that you will survive from it. Other news that I know regarding with plane incidents is being missing of out of the blue. It was just happened few months ago. It was really horrible and very puzzling to think where did it goes and how this could be happened. No one wanted it to happen but it did. After the weeks of searching, it was discovered that all people who ride with that plane died. Telling this story makes me frightened. Many ‘what If’s’ is running in my head and it makes me worry. I just can’t help it to think about those incidents but I keep my expectations different from this negative thoughts. I want my first time’s to be a happy one. I want to ride a plane just enjoying myself with that moment without worrying anything and being a paranoid. Since I want to earn only happy experiences, I’m expecting that I will enjoy my first plane ride. This can be done in the type of the services that I will receive from the crew of any airlines we will ride soon. I’m expecting that there will be pretty or even if they are doesn’t look like Kathrine Bernardo, it’s fine as long as they will be a friendly and approachable flight attendants who will accommodate us as we step in the first block of the plane’s staircase. If I’m lucky to have the window seat or seat near to the window, I’m also looking forward to see how wonderful clouds are and how will the whole Davao and other places will looks like with its top view as the plane will make its ”up, up in the way”. I’m also expecting that everything will be fine and it will be safe and sound as the plane will land and leave the airport. I’m also have the expectation that all of my things will be safe and complete as I get it from I don’t know what is that moving machine which will send your things to you. It’s a nice feeling that after experiencing this kind of things, you will just reminisce these moments as the time goes by. In that moment as you remembering those days, you will proudly to say to yourself that “I’ve been there. I did that and I enjoy it”.

All of us want to be our first time’s to be as good or as best as we could. First time to do anything is the most memorable experience to us. First time’s give as the most mix feeling we will get and it will never be the same as we take as the second time around. Even you’re happy with the second time, third time and so on, it’s still different from the first time you did it. To be a successful with your goal – get the best experience, we must do our roles and give the best shot we have. Regrets will be the product of being too serious and being a negative person. So, instead of being worrying and thinking horrible things, let your positive aura comes in and exhales the negative aura. Instead of being a paranoid, be a happy crazy human being and let the good vibes rocks your world to enjoy the moment. And as you have that moment, just sing this song and sing these lines: “and I just wanna feel this moment, ohhhh”.

Why I choose Model A? (Paper 1)

When I was in my first year in college, I don’t know that there will be a subject like FTS (Field Trip and Seminars). I don’t even care about it since I don’t usually touch or even glance at my prospectus in that time. I just notice this subject when one of my friends which is ahead of us, attend that subject. When the first time I heard the news from her, I got excited for her and also from myself thinking that I could experience that someday. As what I had heard from the ahead students, I knew that they will go to the other places not only in the local areas but also in the national areas like in Manila. I heard too that it’s possible also to go to the other country depending on what kind of model that the class will choose or approve to. Some of my classmate converse about the model thing and it made me excited. I want to go to other places and experience a long trip like what I also heard.

In this semester, I enrolled this subject with an excitement. I have many plans to the point that I think of it every night before I sleep, that’s how I’m excited about it. I even plan to choose what I wear, what I will do when I got there, and what will I buy for my family and friends as a “Pasalubong” for them. I don’t even know in that time that there are many activities that I will encounter soon before going to the other places. Since I’m very excited and I plan it already, I choose the Model A when our class president give us a sheet of paper indicating what model would you like to have. Actually there three models that we can choose from that includes Model A, B and C. Each of this model has own descriptions on what activities and what places we will able to visit. If I will compare these three models, Model C is the cheaper one compare to the two models which is A and B. As what I remembered, Model A includes an interpersonal skills activities for hours I guess, one minor field trip within the Mindanao, one seminar and one major field trip outside the Mindanao which is in Manila. Model B also includes interpersonal skills, same with the first model but differs only in the numbers of minor field trips and hours in seminars. The last model has also interpersonal skills but doesn't have major field trip outside in Mindanao. In choosing the model, the president told us that our parents must decide on what model we want to go since our parents were the one to pay our payments. I’m totally aware that each model has different cost but it doesn't stop me to choose the first model even if I know that the last model is cheaper. I made a talk with my parents and use my power to make them YES. I know that it will be expensive since one of the destinations in this model is held in Manila and ten thousand is not enough to stay there within five days. I admit that I’m selfish to not consider that there will be any possibilities that there will be any instances that my parents will have difficulties to find money for my FTS but I really want to take this opportunity to explore and see what’s with that place and why it was called as a prosperous city.

As I said a while ago, I choose the first model and it is because of my curiosity. I want to see how Manila looks like even other people already told me that it’s more horrible than Davao if you will talk about traffic. I don’t care with that comment since Manila is known as the city where great opportunities are there. Therefore, there are many people living there that make the city as one of the worse city in terms of road controls. I also want to see the IT companies in Manila. I know that I can find IT companies here in Davao but I want to know the difference between these two places and to the fact that there are more companies there, I want to explore it too with my own feet and with my own sight. One of my reasons also in choosing the model A is to earn experiences. If I will fortunately have the money on time to pay the expenses and will be able to go there, it’s my first time to go in too far places. For my nineteen years of existence, the place which is far from my home that I had been was the Digos City. It was just four hours from our home if I will ride a bus to go there but still I was happy that I've been there. I was able to go there through some contest and I was so happy when I went that far even though I didn't get any awards. I love to travel even though riding a bus makes me dizzy and at the end of the trip, I end up in vomiting. I want also to experience to attend a big event like Y4IT event. There are many students will attend that event and I want to be one of those. It’s a great pleasure to attend that kind event where I expect that I will learn something as I will witness this huge upcoming event. I want also to celebrate my birthday with that place since one of the days we will stay in Manila will be on my birthday. In the first meeting, going to Enchanted Kingdom was mentioned and I want it so bad. I want to experience all the rides in EK. I want to experience a little pleasure in going to that place even though this trip is not a pleasure trip. To cut it short, I choose the first model to have different kind of experience. There are many things that I will do for the first time if I will go to Manila that’s why I will take this chance. I just hope that there will be blessings in the sky and it will let me to experience that i want to.

The Eye-opener Sharing Moments (Meeting 2)

Every person has its own story which is worth listening for. You may pick some interesting things and may learn something from them as you lend your time and ears to them. You may not expect that they can inspire you and even change your life in just an hour. That’s the power of words especially if its came from their experiences as well as from their hearts. You can really feel it to extent that they can bring you to the place they were talking about. That’s what I felt as our facilitator speaks in class and share his perspective and goals in life. My experience that I was talking about happened in the second meeting in our subject Technopreneuship, June 17 in the morning. Full of Dreams and faith. That’s what I feel as I listen to our facilitator. I really don’t expect that I will discover something new about our facilitator since my expectations are serious like as the tic of the clocks run, anytime we will experience tough challenges. In that time, I was expecting struggling faces as I turn to my left and right, sweating of hands, and trembling of voice as our feet step on the little podium in front of the class assuming that we will present our innovations in the class and will defend as best as we can. To my surprise, the day of our subject starts with an amazing activity which I find it fun and really inspiring as the hidden idea behind the nine dots reveals. The air shifts from nervous state into a new ambiance because of the things I had assumed earlier as the class was not true. As Sir Gamboa shared his story, it really inspires me more and that was I really like within the four hours or maybe five hours we seated in our chairs.

Our facilitator shares his perspective in life. He also shared some of his experiences as well as how bright his dreams are. Let’s start to his dream. If you want me to describe his dream that he told us, it was like a small star that evolve into a sun in the solar system. It was big, and really bright, full of positivity. He’s ultimate dream if I were not mistaken to hear it, he wants that Davao to shine brightly like a sun. It’s not like bright as literally like it will have all the lights in the whole country but what I mean is that he wants the Davao to be the top of all the places in the Philippines as the center of IT business as well as other field of business. This dream is not really difficult, it’s just SO DIFFICULT. Honestly, I find it impossible. Imagine if you will bring the Davao on top, it really needs a lot of efforts as well as money. This dream is not just like “I want to have a luxurious car someday” or “I will have that house someday”. It’s not for himself but for the Davao City. Davao is just a city that is new to advance technology and embrace this not so long ago unlike other cities in the Philippines like Manila. That’s the reason why I just spill out in my head that it was more likely an impossible dream. It was impossible dream for me but was changed into a possible dream as Sir Gamboa continued his story. As he started to speak up, he just snapped out the thoughts that were running in my head in that time. He talks about how he started his step to work out on his dream and that made me focus more on him. In what I remembered, the first step I guess starts when he and his friend was called out and told them that they were going to the Australia. The purpose of going to the other country was not to have a pleasure trip. Going to Australia was to learn something new with a given period of time. Our facilitator said as he shared his experience that they were supposed to spend months in Australia for studying. There were a financial support for the two of them and all they need to do is to say yes and ride with the plane destined to Australia. But the next thing that he reveals was not what I was expecting in that moment. I thought that the next thing he will utter with his mouth was the thought that he with his friend said yes and things went well but in my surprise, it was opposite. He and his friend who were supposed to go in Australia stayed in the Philippines. Instead of saying yes, our facilitator said no and presented a new idea. As what our facilitator said, he is proud as always. I don’t term it as boast person but as a proud person and I find it funny instead of having a bad reaction as he told these words to us. Since he’s a proud person, he didn’t accept it for some incredible reason. According to him, if the two of them will go to Australia, they will become the most incredible person in that place and no one will be left for the Philippines. The class laugh as hard as we heard those words he uttered. I just keep on buying those jokes as well as being amaze on how he managed to add some gag when he was serious which makes our class exciting and fun. The part of the sharing that I also laugh is when he was called by an officer or maybe the head of the CHED. I’m not sure if it’s the head but I’m sure that our facilitator was called by the CHED. So the reason why he was called because of changing the entrepreneurship into technopreneurship and it matters because entrepreneurship was introduced then into IT courses. They argue why he changed it and he explains that Technopreneurship suits for the IT courses because IT involves technology. He also said about funny things with the deans of other universities, it’s not bad though. The class is lively from the beginning as the discussion ends.  Actually, it happens all the time even in the first meeting in Technopreneurship and in the other subject which we are under in his supervision. There are few teachers can do that and our facilitator in this subject is one of these people. If you, readers wonder why I address Sir Gamboa as facilitator, it’s for the reason that he don’t want to be address as a teacher. You may wonder and want to know the answer bubbling in your mind but it will be answer sooner or later along reading this one, you will know it later. Back to the sharing moment, as what I am saying, he and his friend declined the offer and they weren’t able to go in Australia but he suggested an idea. He propose an idea that instead of going in the other country and spend the money for their study, let the white people come to the Philippines. Let be the education take place in Davao. So as what happen, the money was used for this idea which was approved since it’s a good idea. This idea is for the purpose to expose Davao for this kind of opportunity which is to open up a new curriculum. The new course is the Technopreneurship we are enrolling today. Yes. Our facilitator is one of the people who made an idea to include this subject for the IT courses. As what Kim Chui said in her movie, “Isn’t it amazing?  Isn’t it?” well, it was. I was dumbfounded as those words lingered in my ear lobe as it go up and hang on in my head and processed in my brain. To think that he was really an incredible person, I was still surprise that he was one of the founders in this course. I wasn’t surprise about his ability to make it but how he works for it. It was amazing to know how he had come so far and how he was devoted to his dream which I called I earlier as an impossible dream. Knowing these things from our facilitator are an inspiring to hear and this was what I like from the sharing happens in the second meeting of Technopreneurship. That’s my point in talking so much things about what he shared to us and how I sound like I was really amazed, astonished, and whatever words you can compare to what I feel. The sharing happened in the second meeting just showed me how dreams could be possible. I also realize that dreams a wonderful thing to have. Dreams are the things that people hold on to. Dreams are the reason why there are many successful people in their different field and expertise. That’s the reason why we see many inventions, large establishments and incredible things today. Without dreams, I could really say that life will be no direction. Life is vague and possibly will end up with nothing. In the sharing also, I just realize that fantasizing of our dreams in night is not enough. Effort. A six letter word. This word is the key to unlock the door to the word success. It’s like you’re playing a wide maze and you must find the exact key to pass the maze. Finding the key will cost great effort, same with having a dream. As what I said earlier, dreaming is not enough, you must make it come true and the answer to make it true is to exert effort. That’s what our facilitator showed to us in that day. His dream was really big and now, he’s positive to it. He always says that Davao could be the center of IT business through producing great and effective graduates. Based on my own understanding, our facilitator’s way to achieve this dream is to guide the students to be able to attain their diploma and to produce great students. This way doesn’t give any assurances that these great students will not leave the Davao but he’s positive that the future great graduates will really help Davao to be more productive in terms of technology and he still working on it. In sharing in that meeting, he also included other things. One thing that I like the most is when our facilitator said that we cannot learn anything from him but he will teach us how to value our attitude. I consider it as one of the unique things that I’ve heard along the sharing happens in the second meeting of Technopreneurship. It was great to hear from a facilitator. He explains that we can learn things from many sources. We can learn Java, Android through the help of our friend in all times, Mr. Google. Anyways, only few just care about the languages put up in a program. In the real world, customers cares only for the outcome. Understanding in what he said, I think that the other message of it is learning can be more effective in a way that I as a student can have all the options on how I can gain knowledge. In other words, learning is not limited in the four corners of a room or in a computer laboratory. As what I always hear in the a show like drama shows in the television, the best learning can be found in exploring things, without setting walls to be able to learn more. To answer the question why he doesn’t want to address or to be called as a teacher, this is the answer. We cannot learn anything from him since he will not teach us anything he knows but will just guide us to be more productive and will know how stand with our feet. I guess, that’s the primary lesson in the words he utters in that moment which is to be independent and be more productive in our own way. As what I just stated a while ago, everything can be found now in the internet. I think, it’s an effective way of teaching. Students will now exert more effort than waiting for the teachers to feed them the resource. Again, according to our facilitator, he can just teach us how to give value in our attitudes. For him, it was the most important thing in his class which I’m really agreed for. Even in any place, whenever and wherever you are, you must have a good attitude if it’s not better nor best. Without right attitude, a right conduct, it will cause great, enormous problem. That may start misunderstandings, turn into fight, disunited within the group and end up failure. I may sound too far but it the truth behind the thought without proper attitude. Reading along this paragraph may sound too far from the question as well as to this subject. I may sound that I’m talking about the Value Education subject instead of talking about what is the real definition and essence of having Technopreneurship in the IT curriculum as well as in the society. But my answer to the question ‘what was I mostly like about the sharing’ was not really the content of what our facilitator shares about but the lesson in life with it. As I keep on saying these words: Dreams, Effort, Success, I think it’s the main ingredients to complete Technopreneurship. Technopreneurship is just similar with the word Entrepreneurship. As the matter of fact, as Sir Gamboa said, some of the letters was just replaced that made it as a new word.  Technopreneurship is also involves selling and buying system, business operations which is almost the same with the Entrepreneuship. The only thing that the two words differ is that Technopreneurship is a form of Entrepreneurship which involves technology which is basically applicable on IT courses. Why did I say that the three words I always mentioned are the great ingredients for Technopreneurship? Dream has a big role to everyone as I said a while ago. Dream also has a great part into Technopreneurship. Technopreneurs must have goals in life, must have a target point, must have the term called dream. The dream makes our technopreneurs to exert more effort. It’s like a fuel that makes our ship to move. It’s a direction where we are heading to. Without dreams, do you think that there will be any establishment in our place? Obviously, the answer is NO. We will remain as the caveman people who just live to eat, and to sleep. But dreamers won’t be the same with these people. They want changes, better life than living like a caveman. To be able to change life, EFFORT has a great factor. It’s one of the great factor in Technopreneurship. Building this kind of idea needs an effort. We already know that it’s likely the same with entrepreneurship but it’s more complicated. Since technopreneurship world are composed of dreamer and creative people, they exert effort to make their dream come true. To earn more money, to live better life, to be known, to help the society is the common dreams for the business people out there. If they want to achieve those, they will exert effort to think practical ideas, efficient techniques upon building business proposals and plans, and play like a Pro. Business is a world of competition and nowadays, everything turns to embrace technology and use it as a tool to be ahead from others. That’s the use of the word effort in the world of competition. Great effort comes with a great reward. As they dream and work for it through using great effort, the next thing on the line is the word called success. Everybody wants to be successful in their own field. In technopreneurship, it’s the goal of technopreneurs why they work so hard. Nobody wants to be failed especially if it talks about business. Money, sweat and blood are the investment when it comes to business. But achieving success is not easy to claim in our hands. As I keep on saying, it needs a lot of effort to exert. At this moment, I came up to a thought about this subject. For me, technopreneurship is not just all about the selling and buying stuff or any business operations with the touch of technology, it also talks about what must an individual could have to understand it more and to be able to an effective technopreneurs.

‘Which part do you liked least?’ A question which is difficult for me to provide an answer. Based on what I just mentioned earlier, I just find the whole hours of our second meeting as amazing and inspiring. I took me for a while to digest what are the things that I don’t like or I liked least in sharing happened in that meeting. Then a light bulb lights and sounds “ding” in the top of my head. Don’t take it literally that there is really a light bulb on the top of my head. I just use these words to add spice in my work which I don’t know if it really did. So as I was saying, thoughts just pop out in my head. I don’t really hate the things that were shared by our facilitator in the class but the reality and the common situation within the family and students. “Go to school, get good grades, and land in a high-paying job." the words that locked my eyes as our facilitator showed his PowerPoint presentation in the class. Reading between these lines didn’t make me disagree with it. These lines were called the “Default Mindset” for those people having this kind of thought about the formal education. Honestly, I’m one of these people and I’m having this kind of mindset within the twelve years living as student. It was a common mindset which was originated long, long time ago. Parents out there mostly send their children to school with this kind of thinking. They plant these thought in the mind of their children thinking that it was the right thing to put in their mind in their children. If you will ask some students, you may find answers same with the kind of thinking I was talking about. This only proves that this default mindset was passed through generations. Students strive so hard to get good grades aiming the thought that they will get a high-paying jobs. These students who were set by their parents in this kind of goal take in this mindset which was carried until in the tertiary education, in college. Without knowing, as students move into the next level of education, they will blind their selves into reality. They won’t mind what they really want to be and just mind what courses are in demand and the numbers of zeros will they get soon in their salary. That’s the reality. These people closing the door to look in the other side why they go to school every day. They’re closing their doors to aim much higher like being an employer someday. They’re blinded by their default mindset to be a boss in their own company and just settled with a title of employee. Our facilitator also shared something connected to Default mindset. This was about the great graduates of Davao, the real situation of our city. Davao can produce great graduates in the field of IT. In fact, if all graduates that will work together and will be placed in Davao, maybe Davao is one of the top cities in the Philippines right now. But it was far for what I mentioned above and until now, it didn’t come true, not yet. There are many people who said that Davao has great IT students. It’s true and I really agree with it. These can be proved in the achievements of Davao universities as they participate in any contest. If their participants didn’t get the first place, they can be in the second place or within the top ten lists of winners. But why Davao still remains on its position and doesn’t have booming improvements like Cebu and Manila? As part of the sharing moments in the class, Sir Gamboa mentioned the reason why other cities are on its peak and why Davao is still the same and has slow improvements. According in our discussion, Davao became the supplier of great employees for other cities. Great isn’t it? Universities in Davao must be so proud that they were able to produce great students which have great contribution in the booming industries of othher cities in the country. These best students choose to work in other cities like in Cebu and Manila because of its alluring compensation that they will get which is not equal on what they will earned if they stay in Davao. Best students are attracted on wonderful offers to them and as a result, they will migrate to other cities and basically will work for them. Since the best students are taken by the other cities, those average students will just be the remaining people in Davao City could have. Even these average people may find ways to leave Davao for other cities since they know that there are a lot of companies out there compare in Davao City. To think of it, Davao must be the richest city in the country today but because these best students have this kind of mindset, this place has still slow improvements in terms of the status of our industries. It has least companies compare to other cities which is disturbing. What is the use of having best students in Davao City if they cannot contribute any help for this city? Davao was just become a supplier but didn’t become as a prosperous city like Cebu and Manila. Hearing the reality opens the eye of everyone in that room. It hits me again that I must have learn more and there are things that I thought it was right. As what I said earlier, I’m one of these people having the default mindset. When I was in kindergarten years, I was aiming to be an engineer since I love to draw and I know that it’s a high-paying job. This mindset of mine continues until I was in my fourth year in College. Even though plans were changed and I took other course instead of taking up engineering, my mindset was still the same when I was in my kindergarten years. Partly, one of my reasons in taking up BSIT is it’s in demand. Way back then when I was going to college, I always heard in the news that one of the in demands courses was Information Technology (IT). One of my reasons why I took this course is the assurance I feel that it’s an in demand course. I’m having the thought that I could earn a lot of money when I’m done in college and will have a work which is related in IT. I’m also fantasizing that being an IT graduate has a great possibility to go in the other country which can earn thousand or even millions. That’s the thought running in my head as I step into the gate of USeP. As years pass by, I was aiming not to be an employer. I was aiming to be an employee because I just want to earn money as long as I can help my family. I just want to be web based programmer, any work as long as it’s with the course I take up. Being a boss or the owner of an IT company was never my plan. At first, I don’t find that my mindset is wrong until this second meeting in Technopreneurship happened. I just realize that if ever I finish my business here in USeP, I will be the new member of those graduates that will do the same thing as what I had mentioned earlier. I may go to other cities and just being contented as an employee. So if you will ask me again if which part that I like the least, it’s the default mindset thing. I don’t like it for the reason that I don’t like to face the reality but I hate it or least like it to the fact that the twelve years of my student life is just aiming for the silver one not the gold one. I just mentioned a while ago that there are many people who have this kind of mindset. I think this default mindset was formed due to the situation of the people. For me, I guess this kind of mindset formed because me, personally just want to earn money for my family without knowing that there are better ways of thinking and setting goals in life. Without knowing that my dreams could be bigger than I ever thought. I’m thankful that I was given a chance to know what kind of mindset I have as a student and to see the real situation of Davao that I thought this place is already improved.

As I have a reflection in the sharing of perspective, ideas, and experiences, I came up to a question. If all students have the default mindset, what will happen to Davao? There are possibilities that the situation of Davao industry will be worst than today’s situation. As what our facilitator shared the true situation of Davao, these only proves that the effect of having this kind of mindset must not be ignored. If it will continue and will be pass into new generation, Davao will be still a city which is left out while other cities in the country is on its peak which must be prevented. Our professor presented also the Alternative Mindset. This one makes me understand more about how we must set our goals and how we will run our student life. This one gives me a new direction to achieve the right goals in life. I believe that presenting the Alternative Mindset in the students like is really important. It can change the future of the city as well as the future of the students. In just a few hours of listening to him, I just realize and have a reflection to myself. Lending our ears can change our lives like what happened in our second meeting. You can name me anything like I’m just overeacting but it’s undeniable that those words open my eyes. I’m just keep on minding how life will be so cruel if you don’t have many zeros in your wallet without considering the other things and I know, there are lot of students like me who thinks that way. If they will be given a chance like what I have, maybe sooner or later, Davao will have a booming industry. But, what was on the alternative Mindset that can save students from having the Default Mindset? According to Sir Gamboa, Alternative Mindset is having the thought that instead of “Go to school, get good grades, and land in a high-paying job.” It will be replaced as “Go to school, get good grades, create and own a company." The two lines had a big difference if you interpret it. The first one only minds to earn money and contented to be an employee forever while the other one minds to earn money as well as to be an employer, not just an employee. The second line sounds better right? Having this kind of mindset will give a big difference into new generations. As an individual have this kind of mindset, he will do his best to get good grades, to earn more money and to be the boss of his own company. Imagine if best students out there will have their own company in Davao, employment rate will increase. There will be more opportunities for the people of Davao and this city will be given a chance to be improved and will be line up to the cities in the Philippines as the most prosperous city. Spreading this kind of mindset doesn’t only guarantee a one person, but thousands of people, and the city itself. People really matters in the economy. There will be no city without people. It can be compare to a brain of a person. People are the braincells and the brain is the city. If these braincells will be degenerated, brain won’t function well. Same as Davao City and the people in this city. If people stays together and build their own company in their own city, I could really say “ Davao, Life is here!”

In the second meeting in Technoprenership, I learned and understand more things especially in life. It’s surprising that even Values Education is not part of the curriculum, you can learn it from this subject. I learn how to be a positive person even dreams are look like difficult to achieve. I learn that how effort matters to attain the success. I also find out that other’s stories really can touch one’s life like what happened to me. I also just value more the importance of education. I felt lucky to have a chance for a person like me to seek possibilities in attaining my dreams. There are many people who don’t have the chance as what I have and I’m really glad with this chance. I realize also that education is not just all about earning a lot money as soon you are finish with your studies but it’s a way to earn knowledge as well as to develop a mindset which not only consider practicality but also the real essence why people undergo with this kind of program. Striving hard to have good grades has a main purpose aside from landing a high-paying job and, it’s to help the community as well as yourself. Many people out there finish their studies but don’t know the real purpose why they go to school every day. It’s like wasting of time knowing that you can earn money even you don’t have to go to school.  But, if you’re purpose is like hitting the two birds in one stone, like being a boss in your own company and earning a desired salary then it’s not a waste of time, instead it’s a pleasure for the individuals to attain the real goal with the right mindset.

Connect the Nine dots (Reflection 2B)

There are things that can be learned in a different way. That’s what I realize in the moment as I went home and refreshing all the happenings from school. I thought the second meeting in Technopreneurship would be a tough day because we supposed to present our innovations in the class but it didn’t happen, not yet but soon. The class was fun as always. It’s a usual scene that late students will stand in the front of the class and show their talents, maybe “punishment” is not really the appropriate word for that but for me, it is. As the show is over, our facilitator instructed us to get a piece of paper with a black pen. I was already asking to some classmate to hand me a paper but to my surprise, our facilitator did not allow it and made us bought a single paper worth 50 pesos and it was not a joke. That moment was a prick in my pocket. I hand my 50 pesos to my classmate with regret in my eyes. The If’s statements come in my mind as I gaze the paper. “If only I bought some piece of paper before going to this class. If only I already ask my classmate to give me a paper. If only I knew that this would happened” I said this to myself as if myself is another person. To think that I bought just one piece of paper which has the same worth of a whole pad of paper, it’s really a bad day to me. But thanks to my classmate, she didn’t really get it and just gave it back to me after the class ended. If buying a piece of paper worth 50 pesos is a bad shot, too bad for my classmates who bought black pens from others which only cost you 100 pesos, yes I confirm again that it’s not a joke. Well, these overpricing of pens and paper is not for the purpose of corrupting or any bad things you can came up in your head. It’s not bad as I think in that moment as Sir Gamboa explains why he let us buy those things. Since our subject is Technopreneurship, it’s our facilitator’s way to introduce and explain what’s the true definition of this subject. Even though we’re shock and almost choked up upon paying those amounts for just a piece of paper and a black pen, at least we learn that Technopreneurship is about selling and stuffs like in entrepreneurship but differs only in the idea that Technopreneurship embraces the touch of the technology which suits in our course. After knowing the definition of our subject, our facilitator instructs us to write our name in the upper left corner in our paper. I gaze at my paper and I was thinking that it will be a difficult quiz and I was right. I was clueless as the nine dots were shown in the board. “What will we do in that figure?” my mind spoke in that moment.

Connect the nine dots with just four strokes without lifting your pen. That was the instruction given to us. So I made a try and I try it repeatedly just focusing my sight to the nine dots forming a square shape. I was talking to myself as I try to connect all the dots. How could I do that? That’s the question that I utter to myself. Even my seatmates in that time don’t know how to do it. There are few of them tried to connect the nine dots but only one got the right one which our facilitator agree to his answer. I was amaze in that moment on how my classmate, who I don’t know his name, did it. He connects the nine dots extending the line over the boundaries that the nine dots formed. Our classmate explains the meaning of the figure as our facilitator asked him. As our facilitator explains more the idea behind the connected dots, it hits me and I discover what kind of person I am. Go beyond the box. Go beyond the boundaries. Though it’s not the exact words that he stated, it’s the same thought of those words. As that idea sinks in me, I find myself making a bubble somewhere in my mind. I realize that a part of me is like those people who are scared to step out on their shells. People who can’t afford guts to explore the world and find what’s something new. People who will miss half of their lives to not crossing the line they build by themselves. Those words are sad to know but I find the thought realistic. It’s not just a simple thought that will just pass into your ears in just one millisecond as you hear it but it will definitely sticks in your mind and will makes you examine yourself if what kind of a person you are. As I examine myself, sometimes I do the same things as the person who doesn’t go beyond to his box but not as always. In my perspective, people who always set boundaries are some kind of boring. Why staying in the box is boring? Well, it’s like you’re just stopping yourself to have fun and see how life is beautiful. It’s a dramatic thought but a real one though. There are times that a person must cross those lines especially if it’s a good thing. Example, if you’re good at singing, then why you’ll hide it? Why you just make a concert in your bathroom if you can make a good one in the big stage of Araneta Coliseum? If you have an idea which is very helpful in your community then why not make a move and think unlimited as all what you want? Seeing what you just want to see and experience what you just want to experience is like your choosing a stone rather than to have gold bars. If you just make a try, at least you will know how’s the feeling and what will be the results of it. You may end up regretting if you just always limit yourself and your capabilities to do things. If people don’t have the guts to go beyond of what they can do, there will be no gadgets in our hands today. There will be no facebook nor twitter and even the kind of life we have right now. Without the people who have great imaginations from the pass, we’re still the caveman who just live their lives just to eat, rest and do the same thing all over again.

Nine dots forming a square shape. A simple illustration which all you have to do is connect them considering the rules of it. Others may find it as an easy task nor non-sense but, in a thought that it gives us an important lesson in life, it’s priceless. Though Sir Gamboa, our facilitator said that we must don’t believe him since he said to us that all he’s words are lies, I think I would buy this one. Whether if these are all lies or true, I’m glad that I open my ears for this even the second meeting went more than an hour. This one inspires me to be a better student, to be more productive in a way that I must think outside the box. I’m thankful that I learned new lessons which not only talks about Technopreneurship but how to be a person with a good outlook in life.

The 2nd Meeting (FTS)

The second meeting in our FTS was held in the room 506 on the 13th day of June. Since my current residency is just a walking distance from the school, I was able to attend early before 2:00 o'clock in the afternoon. The meeting went well though there are times that the class is too noisy which we cannot hear what our president talks about. The meeting talks about the problems regarding with the presented fees that must be paid on the 27th day of June. I'm glad that our president address our questions regarding the payments and presented another option on how we could deal with the payment on the stated day. Though I'm still worried on the presented option but it's a big help that we discuss everything regarding with the upcoming Field trip.

Innovation (Davao)

Davao is one of the nicest cities in the country. From the phrase “Davao, Life is here” you will find what you want. There are many establishments in the city which makes the business world booms.  Davao also is known as one of the safest city where people can stay with peace in mind and living their lives without worrying anything. I could say that Davao is better from the other cities since this city is more advance in terms of the technology they have. One of the example and which Davao is proud of is the PSSCC. According to some students who have been there, compare to the other cities’ surveillance center, Davao has a better technology. Even moles in your face are clearly visible to their screen which proves that the devices they are using is good which is really helpful in the city especially with the road situations. In connection with the road situations, the city applied the speedometer tool. This technology is used to control the reckless drivers so that, accidents will be lessen. This tool is a gun like device which will be pointed in the road. This will detect the speed of a vehicle. If a vehicle will exceed from the speed limit, then the officers will do their job. In my observation, holding a speedometer in a couple of hours or more is really tiring for the part for the officers. Aside from its kind of weary, there are possibilities that the officers will not be able to catch those drivers who are extremely fast in driving as the officers will put down the device. With this case, the government could have a speedometer in every part of the city but it will be attach in a post. In this idea, the officers will just keep their energy in standing everywhere with their device. But how could the officers will capture those reckless drivers? This will be done through the use of the database, plate number of the vehicle and of course the speedometer. The speedometer will be improved in this concept. Instead of recording only the speed of a vehicle, it can also capture what are the plate numbers and the person who was driving the vehicle. The speedometer will have an additional device inside of it and this is the camera and this kind of system will be called Speed Limit Recorder. So, whenever there will be speed limit violations in the road, then it will do its job and as it capture the plate number and the images, it will send the data into the database system of the LTO. The officers will now do their job. The officers may send a report to the operators of bus, jeepneys and other forms of vehicle. It’s up to the organization on what measures they will do regarding with the drivers who violates the orders. This concept is for the recording of who violates the speed-limit standard.

Wandering the places in Davao, I was able also to observe the bus terminal in Ecoland. The operation in the bus terminal is usual. Places like bus terminals are crowded. There different destinations in each buses and people recognize the bus’ destination through the sign board displayed in the bus’ window. There are instances that people will be tired of glancing every bus’ sign board just to know if it’s the bus they were looking for and I also experienced that as I went go home or going back to Davao. Since new technology is a big help to any establishments and to any operations, a bust terminal could apply the E-Bus System. With this system, the bus terminal could have different lanes for each destination. Example, there are lanes for Tagum City, Digos, Sto.Tomas and other areas that buses could go. Each lane has its own screen showing what places are included in that lane. Let’s say, if you’re in the lane for Tagum City, there are choices of place that can be pass by the bus as it goes to Tagum like Panabo, Panacan, and etc. Each places that are covered to a particular destination has also its own price depending in the kilometres covered in a particular place. As the customer choose where they will go, they will just swipe their credit cards or insert their money like in the vending machine and apparently, they will get their passenger card that is used to enter the bus. For the people who can avail the SP discount, they must present their ID indication that they are student or a senior citizen. As they have their ID, they will swipe it to the machine in the lane and have the appropriate fee. Upon entering in the bus, they will swipe their passenger card to get a seat number. As they go to their seat number, they must insert their card match with the given seat number. In this system, the bus operators can monitor their passengers whether they arrive in their location. There’s no way that the passengers can fool them since the system knows the destination of each seat numbers. But what if you don’t want to ride in the bus terminal due to some reasons that it’s far away from your house or in your location? Then as a passenger, you must follow the rule. You must go to the bus stop and each bus stop has a vending machine which is the same with the machine in the bus terminal. In this way, people will be discipline to ride in the right place such as in the bus stop or in a bus terminal. Ideally, this kind of concept will eliminate the over loading of passengers since there are seat numbers which will help to avoid any accidents.

In a city, malls are one of the places where people mostly go. I was able to visit one of the malls in Davao which is Gaisano Mall. In my observation, there are times that people who want to be aware of the running total of their picked items they keep on coming back again and again in the price verifier. This kind of style is very tiring to do as well as inconvenient and time consuming. So why not less the effort and live in an easy life? Instead of doing such things, PB Verifier could solve this. Push carts and baskets have its own price verifier which can help customers in monitoring their expenses. It can help them to budget their money as well as will save their energy in walking around the grocery area just to check whether they exceed to their budget. It will also total the items you picked as you drop it to the push cart same as with the basket. As the customer will remove the items, it will automatically deduct it from the previous total of the picked items.
